101 solutions

As a finance consultancy agency, 101 Soluções needed an image that could project professionalism and trust but also dedication and openness, since the brand works closely with each client advising them on finance and insurance.

The result is a puzzle-shaped logo, that works as a visual metaphor for the capacity of fitting the best solution to any given problem, thus alluding to the service’s personalization. The ‘0’ and the ‘O’ unite in one only character to represent the singular solution tailored to client’s needs – that little extra.

The colour palette uses a warm orange with a dark grey, combining elements such as positivity and balance, dynamism and elegance, energy and neutrality, creating a cohesive yet bold image.

start with facts

Libratum is an online publication aiming to become an analytical and neutral source of information about technology, science, and nature, presenting facts in an easy to understand manner, and providing tools for the reader to form his own opinion.

The logo revolves around a clever swap of characters “a” to “α” (alpha – a character of the Greek alphabet from which derived Latin “A”). The use of letter alpha in the logotype symbolises the beginning, the source of science-based factual knowledge – an extremely simple, relevant and iconic solution.
Modern and friendly character of the chosen typeface, as well as the name set in lowercase evoke more accessible character. All topped off with a smart and sober blue with noble golden accent helping to enhance the rational character of the publication.

through a glass of wine

Selling online may be quite challenging, but as we know customers usually choose with their eyes, making the visual impact key.

For this project – Anatomia de Vinho (online store selling regional Portuguese wines) we knew we had to convey the terroirs’ anatomy, the fruit’s taste and the landscape’s diversity, which meant this ought to be an ode to the best that wine has to offer.

This all culminates in strong typography with winy colours and a symbol that encapsulates the land’s wine-making tradition in a glass.

make yourself at home

AAUM organizes the Freshmen Welcoming between 10 and 21 September 2012. The first week is dedicated to supporting enrollment and the second week to integration activities.

The motto is “Make Yourself at Home”. The plan of a house in shape of Europe, using the 12 stars of the EU flag alludes to the fact that UMinho University is one of two cities as European Capitals in 2012 – Braga is the European Youth Capital, Guimarães is the European Capital of Culture.

ode to mitch buchannon

“Cat on the Beach” (Gata na Praia) is a sport initiative carried out for several years now. It is a much welcomed and dear event to all the students in the University of Minho, who seem to easily participate in this privileged moment of fun, amusement and acquaintanceship. It’s an activity that moves, in general, about 500 students from Minho to Algarve (South of Portugal), becoming one of the most successful events.

EUFORIA marks the beginning of the 2nd semester in University of Minho. It’s the last week of holidays and last opportunity for students to have fun and go out before the ending of school year.

FADU – new logo

FADU (Federação Académica do Desporto Universitário) represents dynamism, union, strength, intelligence, competitiveness, and challenge. We proposed to create a system that structures the Federation and conveys professionalism, dedication and seriousness.
Each discipline has a signature attached, creating a structure to the level of an Olympic organization. Such approach, allows the identity to grow communicating efficiently in internal and external fronts. Combining those concepts above with a representative element of sport and success, we were able to develop a strength and dynamic shape inspired by a laurel wreath geometry.
We also studied mathematical systems to create rules that would unify all the elements.
